Since you asked...

To be blunt, if I wanted to fantasize about the Darcys' sex life, I'd rather use my own imagination than somebody else's. The author's sexual fantasies were a total turnoff for me. I also consider this sort of soft-core porn production disrespectful to Jane Austen.

I didn't like the writing style either.

I am new to the site but just read (started last night and finished today) Mr. Darcy's Diary by Amanda Grange. I consider myself a purist and enjoyed this. It was an easy read and was from Darcy's standpoint. I do not believe that Darcy would really talk the way he does in the book (which is his journal) but none the less, I enjoyed. I have also tried to read Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife but was disappointed about 60 pages in because it did not keep the characters true as Jane wrote them (I thought it was somewhat smutty too).

Hope this helps, sorry if I didn't post right...this is my first one but I couldn't resist.

Thanks!

Before you buy any sequels, you might want to read the excerpts posted in the Search Inside the Book feature on amazon. That was enough for me to know I definitely did NOT want to read Mr Darcy takes a Wife. If you read the excerpt you can make up your own mind without buyig something you may regret spending your money on.

I agree! I will not buy a sequel unless it is 3 stars and preferably 4. Only one review of Linda Berdoll's books was good. The rest were negative.
Now I had borrowed a copy from the library so fortunatley I was not out any money!

Out of curiosity, what was it about the book that made you not want to read it?

NOTHING was left to the imagination. I felt like a peeping tom into the bedroom of two of my most bleoved characters.

One scene that GROSSED me out, is Lizzy and Darcy had a dinner party at Pemberely one evening after a passionate afternoon of lovemaking. Lizzy decides not to bathe as she want's Darcy's "smell" upon her! Absolutely gross! We all know BO becomes very strong several hours after lovemaking. I honestly do not believe any sensible woman would want that odor noticed on her. No senisble woman of today anyuway. I understand in that time period people did not bathe much, so maybe no one thought anything about smelling that odor. Nevertheless, I do not want to read about it. That is telling me TOO MUCH.
