I was reading romance novels and Pride and Prejudice was recommended to me. I found a summary and loved the plot. At the next chance I got, I checked it out from the library. I loved it. Then, I found the movie and the different versions of it. Then, I watched her other books ,except Northanger Abbey. Then I read the books.

Hi there I'm new to this site. I'm a highschool student age 17 in White Rock, Canada and I LOVE Jane Austen. I recently had to write a 4,000 word essay on a book of my choice and when I found out that I had to choose a Canadian author my heart shattered because I wanted to write about a book by Jane Austen but anyways I just found this site and I think it's great. I love getting together with other Austen fans because Jane Austen is not that popular amongst high school students saddly. I first starting reading Pride and Prejudice in gr.10 when my mother showed it to me and I absolutely fell in love with it and proceeded to read the rest of her books.

HI. I just found this site yesterday. Love the e-card pictures. I am a huge JA fan, a bit obsessed actually. I love the whole Regency era, the clothes, the manners, the ideals, not to mention Jane. If I could dress like that every day without embarassing myself or husband-my own Mr. Darcy, I would. I read P&P 16 years ago when my mother-in-law told me it was her favorite book and was hooked since. I love knowing there are others out there like me who share this passion. I have the goal of collecting all the books and sequels-even if they are bad-but am running out of room. I keep a running list of all sequels just so one doesn't slip by me.
My favorite is P&P, followed by Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey. Anyone else angered by Lost in Austen where Jane marries Collins, but later decides to "run off" with Bingley? JA would turn in her grave.

Hi! I'm happy to be here. I think I qualify as a completely obsessed Austen fan. I write Austen fan fiction and blog about Austen. I adore everything she ever wrote and am always aching for more. I can't remember when I first read Northanger Abbey (my first Austen) but I know I picked it up in an airport bookstore sometime before I was 13, when I first read Pride and Prejudice. I've been hooked ever since! I'm privileged to be married to something of a Colin Firth look-a-like (though I would happily forsake his awesome hair and handsome face as quickly as Lizzy would Pemberley just to have the man in my life). If only I deserved him!

Hello!
My name is Su and I'm from Germany. I have been a huge Austen fan ever since (the first novel I read by Jane Austen was Sense and Sensibility when I was 10). My most favourite novel is Pride and Prejudice, and although I, of course, prefere Elizabeth Bennet above every other Austen heroin, I must confess that I enjoyed Mrs. Bennet most while reading (I still do, every time I read P&P)^^
So, thank you for taking your time reading my introduction. Su

Hi btravis--I just discovered AustenFans.com this week, but I've been a Jane Austen reader since I was eleven or twelve years old. My favorite JA novel is PRIDE & PREJUDICE, but I really enjoy them all.

Hi typefast2--I haven't heard about LOST IN AUSTEN. Maybe I'll look for a library copy...and find out for myself. The plot does sound HIGHLY improbable.

Hi! My name is Melissa, but I go by Missy.
Believe it or not, I was first introduced to Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice through my brother! He had the A&E t.v. miniseries version on his computer and every night we watched one episode until the end of the series. :O) It was then I fell in love with the story and every single character! It's a special memory for me! :O)
I've read Pride & Prejudice (own three copies for no other reason than you can't have too much P&P), Sense & Sensibility, and am now reading Mansfield Park. I just recently bought all of her books from Amazon. Rather than the time constraint of borrowing from the library I want to be able to relish and take my time reading her books :O)
Sorry for the long introduction, but hello to everyone and very nice to meet you, I can't wait to finally be able to talk to true Jane Austen fans!

I got mad too, when Jane married Collins, but it's really a funny movie! ... if you're not looking for an exact replica of the book and instead a fun twist you'll enjoy it.
